Get to Know Our Coachella Valley

Our beautiful Coachella Valley is a truly unique place. It's remarkable not only for its beauty but for its diversity as well. We have our cities, our communities and communities within communities. And if you should feel the need for a break from our stunning mountain views and palm trees, it's easy to get to the mountains or the beach from the Coachella Valley.

Some of our communities date back to the old homestead cabin days, others are just emerging. As for housing, there literally is something for everyone. Whether you're seeking a 500 square foot getaway condo or a sprawling estate, we've got it. And everything in between.

Let's take a look at some of our fabulous Coachella Valley communities.

Indio

Home of the annual Date Festival! Indio is an older community which has been growing like crazy. The I 10 freeway separates Indio from the newer North Indio developments. You can find an amazing variety of housing in Indio from charming older homes to newer gated tracts. North Indio, in particular has a number of gated communities that are quite affordable. We also find Del Webb's Sun City Shadow Hills in North Indio, a beautiful community for active seniors.

Palm Desert

In heart of the Coachella Valley. Again, we find a wide variety of housing options: condos, detached homes and estate type properties. And in Palm Desert, we find a collection of golf course communities as well as another Del Webb Sun City. Palm Desert is also home to College of the Desert, Coachella Valley's community college. Cal State San Bernardino and UC Riverside also maintain campuses in Palm Desert.

Palm Springs

So much history! Famous for its movie stars and mid century modern architecture, Palm Springs is a fascinating city. Again, the choices in housing are nearly endless. It's a great location if you travel often since we have our own international airport. By the way, Palm Springs International Airport is one of the most pleasant airports you can experience. There is always something fun to do in Palm Springs.

Desert Hot Springs

Home of the spas! Known for its naturally occurring springs, Desert Hot Springs (DHS to the locals) is about twenty minutes uphill from Palm Springs. You'll find some incredible bargains here. And if it's horse property you seek, be sure to check out the Sky Valley area.

Cathedral City

A bustling town on the border with Palm Springs. You'll find lots of single family homes here and lots of family friendly neighborhoods. Again, the variety of ages and sizes of homes is amazing. Cathedral City Cove is an interesting enclave of homes mixed in ages and styles, many of which are mid century modern. Cat City (local lingo again) also boasts the Cimarron golf course. During the holidays, everyone flocks to Candy Cane Lane to see the jaw dropping seasonal displays. Seriously, this is some incredible stuff!

Indian Wells

Home of the tennis gardens. A beautifully maintained Coachella Valley community with lots of estate type homes and plenty of golf. Prices definitely are not for the faint of heart, but it's a lovely place.

Rancho Mirage

Gerald R. Ford lived here as did his wife, Betty. The substance abuse treatment center that bears her name is in Rancho Mirage. Despite its upscale image, there are some bargains in Rancho Mirage. There are a number of golf course communities and also quite a few newer gated tracts. You may be pleasantly surprised at some of the prices in Rancho Mirage.

Coachella

Formerly an agricultural community, Coachella has had a real growth spurt. There are plenty of affordable options here, you'll find some great deals in the numerous newer tracts as well as in the established neighborhoods. You can find all of the bells and whistles in many of the newer homes without breaking the bank.

La Quinta

Great views of the Santa Rosa Mountains from this charming community. This area is very family friendly and residents are rightly proud of La Quinta's award winning schools. Again, you will find a wide range of options here as well as plenty of golf. Be sure to spend some time in Old Town La Quinta, too.

Sun City and Sun City Shadow Hills

One of the perks of being 55 or better is that you can buy into one of our two beautiful Del Webb developments. Nowhere can you get so much for so little money.

Sun City in Palm Desert and the newer Sun City Shadow Hills in North Indio offer friendly neighbors and amazing amenities. Sun City Shadow Hills is the newer of the two developments. If golf isn’t your specialty, check out the indoor and outdoor pools, the gyms and nearly endless array of groups and organizations. The newest phase of Sun City Shadow Hills is even going to have an indoor walking track for those blazing summer days!

Sun City and Sun City Shadow Hills represent amazing value for the dollar.

For Adults Only — Our Coachella Valley is home to a number of 55+ gated communities, including Trilogy in La Quinta and Heritage Palms in Indio—both with golf courses. It’s resort style living at incredibly affordable prices.

These are just a few of the communities within our fabulous Coachella Valley. It's a great place to live whether you are a full time resident, a snow bird or visitor. Come and see us, we think you'll like it here.
